The iPod Emmy

(4/22/06) It was a hot time in the old town on Saturday night but unfortunately we did not win the first annual “iPod” Emmy. The award was won by AOL/ Live 8.We congratulate them as well as the other great nominees.

Even so, the star-studded event was spectacular. To see some pictures from our weekend in the Big Apple, click here.

To put it all in perspective, check out Chase Squire’s article in the St. Petersburg Times.

    Congratulations! Wow! Cool! An Emmy…

Now that should be an inspiration to some people who didn’t even realise (like me) the web could give Emmy’s… 🙂

    Hope you win for sure.

    “New episodes appear irregularly . . .” ?!?!

The WSJ is scathingly, unflinchingly clear on every detail of our anithero’s character but then they go and get a basic fact like scheduled episodes wrong?

Maybe we (”We?” I have been asimilated by “Its Jerry Time!”) should be scathingly clear with Aron Rutkoff about animation studios meeting production schedules on time!

    Hey Jerry!
    Hearty and sincere congratulations!
Your stuff is as funny as Larry David’s.
You may not be as rich as him financially but in the kingdom of comedic observation and mordant wit you possess great wealth and would certainly make a great joint ruler of said kingdom!
    Good luck!

Sorry you lost Jer. And to AOL!? I mean, come on, a charity video?! How in the world could that beat you? Something’s messed up. But still, kudos for making it all the way up to the Emmys in just 6 months. That’s pretty good.
    30. user Says:
    April 24th, 2006 at 1:43 pm e

I wasn’t going to say anything if Jer won but . . .

    Hey you DID win!!!

Getting nominated and loosing is actually winning!!

The awards go to the best of the mediocre. And to those who round out the Academy’s ideal profile:

    1. being at the head of, NOT AHEAD of, the pack (AOL)

    2. not to mention keeping up the Academy’s “mainstream” look (AOL).

The Academy, any academy, is about distinctions in sameness, about first steps. The ultimate step is leaving the academy. Sure the accolades have a seductive appeal.

But, then, what of the story, the adventure? It plateaus. Where are you then? Jack Nicholson?

Not getting nominated is like not resonating. However the award is for excellent mediocrity.

Getting NOMINATED AND LOOsING is the highest possible achievement. (And yes, thereby there are some other successes out there, not just you alone on a podium leading the ditto heads. Good company then!)

A heartfelt “Good Work Jer!” I couldn’t be more proud of our antihero.

    You matter.
