“Home? I have no home”
“Home? I have no home. Hunted. Despised. Living like an animal! The jungle is my home. But I will show the world that I can be its master. I will perfect my own race of people. A race of atomic supermen which will conquer the world. Hahahahahaha.”
But have you seen the original “White Zombie”? Or “Carnival of Souls?” Or the infamous “House of Pain” climax sequence of “Island of Lost Souls?” If you’re talking about monster films of the 30s, of course you must mention Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney and the original “King Kong,” which is my all-time favorite movie.
But the all-time scariest scene in a horror film for me is the opening scene to Mario Bava’s classic “Black Sunday” with the magnificent Barbara Steele. I was watching this film alone in a dark basement at age 12, and there was a warning at the beginning of the movie about being for age 13 and over…I nearly lost it.
